Mr. President! is a controversial action game that puts players in the role of Secret Service agents as they attempt to protect the next U.S. President.

If you have ever imagined what it would be like to take a bullet for the Commander-in-Chief, you don't have to wonder anymore: Mr. President is a game designed around the concept of armed agents stopping assassination attempts. The target that must be saved is none other than Ronald Rump. As the most reviled public figure in modern history, he has a lot of enemies trying to take him out, and it is up to you to reluctantly stop them.

The gameplay mechanics are exceedingly simple, but the puzzling challenges increase in intensity as players progress through the levels. Regardless of the surroundings, the mission always remains the same: Jump in front of a gunshot to save the presidential candidate's life.

Ultimately, timing is the key element to beating this game, so quick responses are important. All it takes is a one-second delay to fail and let the future president die. The more difficult stages incorporate complex bullet trajectories that make it very difficult to intervene, and sometimes random chance is the only thing that keeps the politician alive.

While most players would view this concept as a harmless gag, some people may get offended at the notion of violence being directed towards political figures. Despite the potential for controversy, this game is safeguarded by the First Amendment. No overt threats are being made, so the real Secret Service should have better things to do than investigate those involved with this release.

This title was originally developed during the 2016 presidential election, and the creators were clearly trying to illustrate the absurdity of a potential Trump presidency. A lot of the humor in this game is dated, especially since plenty of the jokes are based in a different political era where Trump was not yet seriously considered a viable candidate. Thus, many of the inferences did not age well after his surprise victory.

The 3D graphics are amusing, but they are mostly for decorative effect. The environments are hardly interactive, and the jumping animations are determined in advance. Because the hero in question is bulletproof, there is no limit to the number of shots he can take.

Overall, this title is basically just a single joke being expanded to fill an entire game. As such, it can be a bit repetitive. Furthermore, no amount of skill can ensure success, because some levels can only be overcome through sheer luck.
